Absolutely! Often and again, I meet many Year 13 parents and one of the first things they tell me is, “I wish I knew when my child was in Year 12.” Arguably Year 12 is the best time to start preparing so that by the start of Year 13, the student would have done all the enriching extra curricular activities needed for their personal statement AND in fact be ready with the first draft. Having said that, those who are in Year 13 will benefit immensely from attending especially as they will be applying the knowledge gained imminently. Moreover they still have some time to catch up on additional activities, if needed, before they submit their application.
Those who attend will:
* Recognise what they should be doing right now, so that their personal statement is rich in content.
* Understand what the top universities need from them
* Identify what to include or leave out of their personal statement
* Know the difference between the personal statement for an academic course and a vocational one
* Have an idea of tests and additional work they may have to undertake
* Be better positioned to create a plan of action for success
The course is made up of a series of videos followed by quizzes to assess progress and some very useful checklists that can be downloaded. There is also at least one live Q&A included.
The course is online so you do not have the stress of traveling. You can go through the materials from the comfort of your home or anywhere you prefer using the device of choice ie laptop or smart phone.
The course is available immediately, however you can go through it on demand which makes it very convenient for you. That means you can pause, rewind or review any of the materials as many times as you like, at any time you like for 360 days from your purchase date.
Both. Although it is mainly for the students, parents can also login and go through the material. Such parents will be better placed to support their children through the process.
